2012 Conexiones Annual Award Application

Conexiones announces the 2012 Annual Awards recognizing Hispanic high school seniors in Howard County, Maryland. All Hispanic Seniors in Howard County Public High Schools who will graduate in May 2012 are eligible.

Our graduation award recipients also receive recognition at individual high school senior awards events, providing a positive image of Hispanic student achievement for all those in attendance.

To apply, please follow the steps below:

1. Download the Instructions for a 2012 Conexiones Award.

2. Determine what you are applying for (If you are applying for a Conexiones Achievement Award, you must select only ONE of the 3 options).

  1. Conexiones Achievement Award
    1. Academic Excellence (minimum weighted GPA of 3.50)
      1. We will recognized students in two tiers
        1. 3.50 – 3.99
        2. 4.0 and greater
    2. Community Service (with minimum weighted GPA of 3.00)
    3. Overcoming Obstacles in the attainment of High School Graduation (with minimum GPA of 2.50)

  2. High School Graduation Recognition Award

3. Ask a faculty member (teacher who knows you well) to download the recommendation form, fill out the form on your behalf and submit it electronically by March 3, 2012 to awards@conexioneshc.org. Alternatively you can download the recommendation form, complete the first two items, save, and then email the form directly to the faculty member from whom you are seeking a recommendation.

4. Request a copy of your high school transcript from your school and send transcript (postmarked by 3/3/12) to CONEXIONES, Inc., P.O. Box 6997, Columbia, MD 21045.

5. Download and complete the application form, save it and email it by March 3, 2012 to awards@conexioneshc.org

Conexiones held its 10th Annual Hispanic Achievement Awards ceremony and reception on May 18, 2011 at Long Reach High School in Columbia.
