CANCER PREVENTION STUDY-3: Research today for a cancer-free tomorrow

Conexiones supports participation in a very important health initiative: the American Cancer Society Cancer Prevention Study-3.

To better understand ways to prevent cancer, the American Cancer Society is recruiting men and women across the U.S. and Puerto Rico for a landmark new research study – Cancer Prevention Study-3 (CPS-3). CPS-3 will help researchers better understand the lifestyle, genetic and environmental factors that may cause or prevent cancer.

During the week of June 9-15, 2013, the opportunity to enroll in CPS-3 in Howard County will be made possible in partnership with Corporate Office Properties Trust (COPT), Howard County Wellness Center, Roger Carter Center, St. Agnes Hospital and UnitedHealthcare.

Individuals may choose to participate in CPS-3 if they are between 30 and 65 years old, have never been diagnosed with cancer, and are willing to make a long-term commitment to the study (which involves completing follow-up surveys periodically over the next 20-30 years).
