The Maryland Hispanic Scholarship Gala will be held Saturday, September 8, 2007 at Martin’s East from 8pm to midnight.

The Maryland Hispanic Workforce Conference & Job Fair will be held on Friday, September 7, 2007.

The event will be held at the Tremont Grand Conference Center in Baltimore, Maryland, from 8am to 7pm. If employers have recruitment needs before September, please contact Gigi Guzman at 410-558-3515.

• Demonstrate a history of community involvement.
• Be of Central American or other Latino ethnicity.
• Demonstrate financial need.
• Have a minimum 2.5 GPA.
• Reside and study in California or Washington D.C.
• Be willing to give back to the community by becoming a mentor to a high school student, be part of SALEF alumni or completing the equivalent in community service hours.

The scholarship is open to all qualifying students regardless of immigration status.

Applicants must be either: a) graduating High School seniors, b) current undergraduate, graduate and professional students or c) community college (AB540) students.
